Successful Coaching Team

At Elsham Golf Club, the Junior Group Coaching Sessions are delivered by Liv Piner. Liv herself started out as a Junior at Elsham Golf Club, and now looks to share her passion and experience to the latest crop of Junior Golfers. Her infectious love for the game is visible not only in her approach to coaching, but also in the smiles on the faces of the Children in her lessons.

Liv is supported by Head PGA Professional David McNicholas who has a proven track record in coaching Juniors to a very high level and is currently one of two Professionals Coaching the Lincolnshire County Junior Girls Team.

The approach to coaching at Elsham Golf Club has been recognised nationally through The Golf Foundation Presidents’ Awards and Golf Roots Centre Accreditation.

GolfSixes League

Since the creation of the GolfSixes League in 2017, Elsham have successfully encouraged it’s youngsters to take part in this exciting and innovative playing format. It is designed to give young golfers the opportunity to play on the golf course in a format that is fun, team based and suitable for beginners.

GolfSixes League involves teams of 6, playing six holes in pairs using the highly inclusive Texas Scramble format. This format is designed for non-handicap players, or 37 and above.

A Team League

Our more experienced WHS Juniors have the opportunity to take part in a six player team, and represent Elsham Golf Club, competing against local clubs in a Match Play League.

Seasonal Trophy Matches

Throughout the golfing year, we host a number of Trophy events for all of our WHS members. These take on a variety of formats, and see both boys and girls compete against one another, with the culmination being the Junior Club Championship at the end of the playing season.

North Lincolnshire Golf League:

Saturday 2nd May 2026:

The Junior Team played their first league match of the 2026 season away to Thonock Park on the Thonock Park course.

The weather was surprisingly pleasant, dry and sunny.

With only 5 players available for the Elsham Team due to other commitments, they put up a brave fight against the strong Thonock Junior team.

Captain Evan Churchill led the way, but had a tough game playing on his own, sadly losing 7 & 6.

The second pairing of Musa Khan and Lucas Cox had a flying start and went 3 up early on, but local knowledge of the home team, ensured they secured their match, coming through 3 & 2 victors.

Last out, Lewis Kirby and Samuel Collins produced the only half of the match for Elsham, with a real up and down game.  Being 2 up and 2 down in the match, it was a real battle all the way. Playing the last Elsham had been one down, Lewis won with a 5 nett 4 to get the half point to save the whitewash.

Well done to the Thonock Park junior team on their win, return home match is on Sunday 17th May.

Match result – Thonock Park 2 ½ – Elsham ½

Big thank you to Gary Woosey for sponsoring the Junior team Ping polo and ¼ zip tops, the team looked great and makes a big difference.
